ViewSonic has brought its M10 portable RGB laser-based projector that won an iF Design Award, into Singapore.

What is different about it is that it uses a new laser technology that combines red, green, and blue laser diodes to generate images, rather than the usual single blue laser coupled with a rotating colour wheel to achieve the desired spectrum or three separate red, green, and blue lasers.

According to ViewSonic, the FHD 1080P M10 has a brightness of 2,200 lumens and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It delivers a broader colour gamut that meets the BT.2020 colour standard rather than the more familiar DCI-P3. Rec.2020 is a standard for ultra-high definition (4K and 8K) displays and covers the largest area of the visible colour space.

It also comes with instant auto focus with Time of Flight (ToF) technology, auto horizontal/ vertical keystone correction functions, Frame Interpolation technology to reduce motion blur, has a 7W built-in Harman Kardon speaker, and can throw an image up to 100-inches at a distance of 2.66m.

While apparently not coming with a built-in video streaming app like Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime, it supports wireless screen mirroring for streaming movies or shows via Wi-Fi from mobile devices and can directly connect to smartphones or tablets via USB-C. It also has HDMI 2.0 connectivity to connect to a laptop or video streaming box. It also has Bluetooth 4.2.
