LG just announced its latest OLED TV technology, OLED EX.
As an acronym of "Evolution" and "eXperience", LG uses deuterium compounds to make OLEDs that emit brighter light while maintaining high efficiency for a long time.
Its built-in "personalised algorithm", which is based on machine learning, predicts the usage amount of up to 33 million OLEDs based on 8K OLED displays and precisely controls the display's energy input to more accurately express the details and colours of the video content.
The new OLED EX also reduces bezel thickness from 6mm to 4mm based on 65-inch OLED displays. This allows OLED EX TVs to deliver a more immersive viewing experience in a sleeker design.
LG's OLED production plants will start manufacturing OLED EX panels from Q2 2022.
