Do you fancy having all your streamed games on LG smart TVs, monitors, and lifestyle screens in one place for easy access?

LG has finally done that with the latest version of its display operating system (WebOS 23 and later). Now, WebOS for LG smart TVs, LG Smart Monitors, and LG StandbyMe lifestyle panels will have a new games hub called Gaming Portal.

LG WebOS users can access all LG’s partnered gaming content providers using the Gaming Portal.

If you recall, WebOS has access to cloud gaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now in 4K, Amazon Luna, Boosteroid, Blacknut, and Xbox Cloud Gaming (coming later this year).

These cloud gaming services are streamed, which means no gaming console is needed. Having Internet access, a cloud subscription with a WebOS-support LG display, and a preferred controller would suffice.

Gaming Portal also houses native WebOS game apps, mostly casual titles suited for the TV’s default remote control.

According to LG, the interface lets users see recently played titles, top 10 trending games, and editors’ picks. Optimisations include “play with remote control” or “play with Game Pad” from the left-sided menu, which reduces the need to scroll through individual titles.

The Gaming Portal also houses all gaming achievements and badges. Players can see progress, points, levels, and tiers, all based on Gaming Portal activity.

Users can personalise their My Games menu in My Page, which can also help them filter out their preferred titles and track upcoming games of interest.

Here’s the kicker: LG’s Gaming Portal launches in 19 markets worldwide (Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkiye, UK, and the USA). None of its launch markets are in Singapore, despite LG TVs here having access to cloud gaming services. However, we'll update if it ever comes to us.
