LG Showcases Google TVs, Ultra HD & OLED TVs at CES 2013 (Updated!)
LG has unveiled several new TV and related products at CES 2013. Some that caught our attention are new Google TVs and wider variety of Ultra HD TVs. The company has also stated its plans for its 55-inch OLED TV for the US market.
Besides its 100-inch Laser TV system, LG is also out to impress CES 2013 attendees with a few other TV and related products.

LG is increasing its 2013 Google TV lineup to seven new models in five screen sizes. Two model series, GA7900 (47 to 55-inch) and GA6400 (42 to 60-inch), are announced. The former has dimming and LG’s Cinema Screen design applied for a sleek and modern look. Other headline features include an updated Home Dashboard to aid in discovery of new content, wireless connectivity, and pre-installed OnLive app for gamers. Powered by a dual-core CPU, the LG Google TV touts fast menu navigation, web browsing, and video streaming. And let’s not forget about the redesigned Magic Remote Qwerty that combines a keyboard with point-and-click control. Better yet, this updated remote supports natural language recognition, which should help tremendously when you’re searching for content. Image quality also receives a boost as the extra processing power allows the TruPicture XD Engine to work more efficiently and effectively. For 3D, the LG Google TV employs LG’s Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology.

New Ultra HD TVs

Here's a real-life view of all the sizes for LG's UHDTVs.
We all know about LG’s S$25,000 84-inch 4K TV, but the company has just revealed that it’ll be adding two more screen sizes (55 and 65-inch) to the family. Besides the eye-popping 3,840 x 2,160-pixel resolution, all three Ultra HD TVs use LG’s Triple XD picture processing engine, Resolution Upscaler Plus for improving the quality of lower-res content, and Cinema 3D technology. They also feature a 2.2-channel sound system, comprising of two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers.

LG’s 55-inch 55EM9700 OLED TV that finally went on sale in South Korea last week for a scheduled delivery in early February has now gotten a US pricing and launch date. According to LG Electronics USA, the WRGB OLED TV will be available in the United States from March at a suggested retail price of US$11,999. In Korea, the price is closer to US10,000.
