At CES 2025 LG unveiled its 2025 OLED evo TV lineup. This year’s models, such as the new OLED evo M5 and G5 series are powered by LG’s latest α (Alpha) 11 AI processor Gen2 and will bring AI and machine learning capabilities to further improve picture and sound quality over last year’s models.
The displays all use deep learning algorithms to analyse and refine low-resolution and low-quality images, enhancing them to a higher definition with pixel-level precision to deliver natural and sharper visuals. Additionally, Dynamic Tone Mapping Professional offers expert-level control over HDR10 content for professional creators, allowing precise customization and fine-tuning of images for accurate colour and detail representation in all viewing environments.
Both new TV series have LG’s new Brightness Booster Ultimate, which lets the TV get three times brighter than the LG B5 TV. They have also received UL Solutions’ “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Colour” certification from Intertek for 100 percent colour fidelity. The TVs support Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation, which adapts the picture according to the lighting conditions of the room.
If you’re a gamer, LG has you covered as well. latest LG OLED evo TVs boast 4K 165Hz VRR (on the G5-series) along with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium.
In terms of their audio, the new 2025 models still have AI Sound Pro to again deliver a virtual 11.1.2 channels of surround sound. They also use AI to analyse over 1.6 billion image settings and 40 million sound profiles so that the AI Picture/Sound Wizard can tailor an audio and visual experience unique to each user.
Delivering a personalised experience

To give each user what LG calls “a customised experience tailored to each user”, begins at the start when the TV is turned on using the AI Remote. Each user is greeted by name by AI Welcome, and gets tailored recommendations based on their preferences and viewing habits. If there are multiple users in the home, AI Voice ID recognises individual voices, automatically switching profiles and delivering content suggestions that match personal tastes.
AI Search is being paired with Microsoft Copilot to improve and streamline the search process, especially when used together with the AI Chatbot.
The webOS interface has also been improved and displays a new home screen. The interface is also faster and offers a personalised experience with UI, categories, and support for multi-platform integration with Home Hub connecting ThinQ and Google Home to control various IoT devices. This allows users to manage and control their smart home ecosystem through a single interface on their LG smart TVs. This will be extended to LG Smart TV owners for the next five years under the webOS Re:New program so that they can enjoy these benefits beyond their initial purchase.
