YouTube's new 4K, 60 frames per second videos will probably break your system

YouTube has began experimenting with gorgeous new 4K videos running at 60 frames per second. Obviously, they look great, but unfortunately, you will need a powerful system to run them smoothly.

4K videos are not new to YouTube and neither are videos that run at a silky smooth 60 frames per second. But YouTube has now combined the two and are beginning to experiment with 4K videos running at 60 frames per second.

Now, before you get too excited, there's are a couple of caveats. First of all, the selection of videos offering 4K at 60 frames per second is currently very small. But perhaps more important is the fact that the videos currently require a really beefy system to run smoothly, not to mention also an Internet connection that is fast enough.

We tried running them on the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and although our Internet connection was up to snuff, the video was too choppy to be able to be appreciated fully. But, if you think your system and your Internet connection has what it takes, feel free to try running the videos below.
