Tune is an experimental Chrome browser extension that allows the user to block harsh comments from a number of popular platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Disqus. It lets you customize the level of toxicity of vitriolic content; however, it only works on English language comments.

The AI technology behind Tune is nascent and prone to error. The creators also admit that Tune isn’t the perfect solution to address online vitriolic speech but it’s an avenue to show how AI, with its NLP capabilities, can “empower” people to shield themselves as they peruse online comments on popular platforms. Tune is built on the Perspective API and is completely open source.
