Readers traveling to the US should take note of the new screening procedures that the TSA (Transport Security Administration) is adopting.

From now onwards, TSA will require separate screenings for all electronic devices "larger than a cell phone".

This means that travelers must now take out devices like their tablets, e-readers, and handheld game consoles for separate screening.

Prior to this, travelers were only required to take out their notebooks for separate screening.

TSA Acting Administrator Huban A. Gowadia said, "Whether you're flying to, from, or within the United States, TSA is committed to raising the baseline for aviation security by strengthening the overall security of our commercial aviation network to keep flying as a safe option for everyone."

Looks like security lines at US international airports are about to get longer. So if you are traveling to the US, remember to factor this into your planning.
