Sega and Atlus have teamed up with regional budget airline AirAsia to take Sonic the Hedgehog and Persona 5 to the skies. The highlight of the brand partnership features two specially designed AirAsia aircraft with liveries that showcase Sega’s famous blue hedgehog and Persona 5’s enigmatic Joker and Morgana.

The collaboration also extends to the onboard experience, where passengers can enjoy a variety of themed experiences. For instance, Santan (AirAsia's in-flight catering service), will offer Sonic's Golden Ring Cakes, a donut with golden glaze and Sonic-themed toppings – inspired by the iconic golden rings seen in Sonic’s games. AirAsia says passengers are encouraged to pre-order these special treats before their flights to ensure availability.

What’s a collaboration without merchandises? Fans can look forward to exclusive Sonic and Persona 5 collectiables, which will be available from early 2025 on all AirAsia Malaysia and AirAsia X flights, as well as via AirAsia Move Duty Free. These will include items such aircraft replica models, key tags and more that feature characters from both games.

AirAsia has yet to announce the schedule for its Sega and Atlus aircraft but has confirmed that they will operate on routes across major cities in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific regions, including Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, and Sydney.
