Samsung is rumored to be working on a Bixby-powered smart speaker
Samsung is developing a Bixby-powered smart speaker.
Apple announced the HomePod smart speakers at WWDC 2017.
Having seen its rivals release smart speakers, Samsung also want to be a part of the club.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ)claims that Samsung is working on a voice-activated speaker powered by its digital assistant Bixby. It is reportedly known internally by its codename Vega. The publication did not share any information on the design, features, specs and likely launch date for the smart speaker.
Not surprisingly, the WSJ pointed out that development of the smart speaker is delayed due to Bixby. Samsung is still unable to launch the English version of Bixby due to the lack of big data. As Google, Amazon and Apple race ahead with their respective smart speakers, Samsung needs to pull up its socks to avoid being left behind.
