It's that time of year when most of us start eagerly planning our year-end holidays, and one crucial essential is to ensure that we have our roaming data sorted out. After all, nobody wants to be left stranded with no mobile data after landing in a foreign country, right?
MyRepublic has just launched its newest offerings with MyRepublic Everywhere, in the form of a Pocket Wi-Fi option, as well as a Travel eSIM.
The Pocket Wi-Fi option comes with a minimum 5-day rental of the device, and prices seem relatively affordable. We've listed out the prices for a few popular destinations below, so we'll let the numbers do the talking.
Destination | Cost of 1GB per day (SGD) | Cost of 5GB per day (SGD) |
Australia | $4.90 | $6.90 |
Europe* | $4.90 | $6.90 |
Hong Kong | $1.90 | $4.90 |
Japan | $1.90 | $2.90 |
Malaysia | $1.90 | $2.90 |
North America | $4.90 | $6.90 |
South Korea | $1.90 | $2.90 |
Taiwan | $1.90 | $2.90 |
Thailand | $1.90 | $2.90 |

As you can see, the prices are generally very reasonable, and the 5GB per day plans looks to be good value for money. It's certainly a nice option for people travelling in large groups or families.
The MyRepublic Everywhere Pocket Wi-Fi plans offer coverage in up to 120+ destinations, and up to eight different devices can be connected to a single pocket Wi-Fi router. The connection speed is shared among each connected device, however, so it could be a bit slow if all eight devices are in use at once.
Local doorstep delivery is charged at S$6.50, and MyRepublic recommends ordering it at least seven working days prior to the departure date in order to get the router 3-5 working days before your trip. The plan can be signed up for via the MyRepublic Everywhere app (on Google Play Store or Apple App Store), the MyRepublic website or the MyRepublic Everywhere order portal.

If you're travelling alone or don't enjoy the hassle of charging and bringing out a pocket router, MyRepublic Everywhere's Travel eSIM might be the better choice. Capped at 1GB per day at full speeds with unlimited data at throttled speeds thereafter, the Travel eSIM offers connectivity in over 50 countries such as Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, USA and more. Check out the prices of some destinations in the table below.

The MyRepublic Everywhere Travel eSIM only provides roaming data, so you won't be able to use it to make calls, but that's the case for most travel eSIM offerings on the market. Unlike some other eSIMs out there, the Travel eSIM package starts on the day of activation, so you'll want only to activate and set up the Travel eSIM once you reach your destination.
Similarly, the MyRepublic Everywhere Travel eSIM can be purchased via the MyRepublic Everywhere app (on Google Play Store or Apple App Store), the MyRepublic website or the MyRepublic Everywhere order portal.
We've contacted MyRepublic to check on more details, but in the meantime, please don't hesitate to ask us questions, and we'll update the story when possible.
