Facebook Officially Launches Messenger for Windows
The Facebook messenger app for Windows was leaked out in December last year, and an official download was released in a bid to lessen the impact of the leak. Now Facebook has officially launched the app which allows for chatting with friends without needing to have a browser window open.
The trial version of the Facebook messenger app for Windows was leaked in November last year, and Facebook dealt with it by releasing an official download in a bid to lessen the impact. And today Facebook has officially launched the full Windows version of the messenger app.
While there's nothing exceptionally groundbreaking about the app, it offers users the convenience of not needing to have a browser window open in order to chat with friends or browse through your news feed and notifications.
That means, you can check Facebook like a ninja. Unfortunately the current version only works with Windows 7, so if you're running Windows XP or Vista then you will have to wait until a compatible version is released. It's also been revealed that a Mac version is in the works.
