Sony ZV-1 vlogging camera gets better with new webcam firmware update
A new firmware update for the Sony ZV-1 enables webcam functionality for livestreaming or video conferencing when connected to a PC via USB.
Sony just updated their excellent ZV-1 vlogging camera with a firmware update that enables webcam functionality when you connect the camera to the PC via via USB cable. It supports the UVC/UAC5 standards for video and audio communication in this mode, so you shouldn't need to have any other drivers installed. Just connect the ZV-1 to your PC (after the firmware update of course), and you should be able to use the camera as well as its built-in mic as a video and audio source for livestreaming or videoconferencing.
In addition, if you have a Sony Xperia 1 II or Xperia 5 II smartphone (upgraded to Android 11), you can also connect the ZV-1 and livestream on-the-go, using the Xperia phones as a secondary display.
