Sony Postpones Alpha NEX-7 Release and Curbs A65 Production Due to Thailand Flooding
Due to the flooding in Thailand, Sony will be indefinitely postponing the global launch of the NEX-7 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera and the Japanese launch of the Alpha A65.

Sony will be delaying the global launch of its NEX-7 camera and the Japanese launch of the Alpha 65 model indefinitely due to the flooding in Thailand. According to Reuters, the flooding has affected operations at two of its three factories in Thailand. This has resulted in the delay of production for both the NEX-7 and Alpha A65 camera models.
Sony owns three plants in Thailand - one camera plant is reported to be completely flooded while operations were suspended at a semiconductor factory as a result of supply shortages. In order to cope with the severe floods, Sony has decided to produce Cybershot compact cameras at other factories in Japan and China. The Alpha A65 production may also be switched to a car production plant in Thailand.
The NEX-7 was due to release on the 11th of November.
