Rumor: Specifications of Canon’s next PowerShot leaked

Canon’s next camera is supposedly the PowerShot SX740HS.

Nokishita has just posted what looks to be an official Canon PDF showing the full specifications of their next camera – the PowerShot SX740 HS. Apparently this will retail from 30th August in Japan at a recommended retail price of 52,830 Yen (about S$650).

As the PDF reveals, the camera will use a 1/ 2.3” type back-illuminated CMOS sensor with 20.3MP resolution, and be powered by a DIGIC 8 processor. It seems the lens covers a 35mm equivalent of 24-960mm, giving it 40x Optical Zoom that can be doubled with Canon’s ZoomPlus technology. 5-axis image stabilization is included, and it’s said to provide up to 3.5 stops compensation.

The camera is capable of recording 4K (3840x2160, 29.97/25 fps) videos for up to 29min 59s per clip, and can do Full HD (1920x1080) at up to 59.94 fps. Maximum continuous shooting rate is 10 frames per second with one shot AF and 7.4 frames per second with continuous AF activated.
