Panasonic Unveils HC-X900 Prosumer Camcorder
Panasonic has announced its latest prosumer full HD camcorder - the HC-X900. This 3MOS-based camcorder now supports 1080/60p (50p) recording based on the AVCHD Progressive format.
The HC-X900M comes with 32GB of flash memory.
Panasonic has announced the HC-X900, an enthusiast 3MOS-based (three 1/4.1-inch CMOS sensors are used) camcorder that records full HD 1920 x 1080 videos at 60p (50p for PAL units) based on the new AVCHD 2.0 (Progressive) standard. Like its predecessors, it has a 12x optical zoom lens (which starts at 29.8mm at the wide-angle end), supports 5.1-channel surround sound, and has a lens ring for manual controls.
The HC-X900M also shoots full HD 3D video when you attach it with an optional 3D conversion lens. However, this isn’t the same conversion lens as the one introduced in 2011 (VW-CLT1). The new VW-CLT2 is not only smaller but also brighter (from F3.2 to F2.0).
In addition, the 3.5-inch LCD is now a glasses-free 3D LCD and sports a high 1,150,000-dot resolution. The image stabilization system also gets an upgrade; Panasonic's Hybrid O.I.S. + anti-shake technology now implements a five-axis correction.
The X900 series consists of two models: the HC-X900 records directly to an SD, SDHC or SDXC card and has no built-in memory, while the HC-X900M has an SD slot as well as 32GB of internal flash memory.
