No more losing lens caps?
Kuvrd's universal lens cap was over 600% funded within the first 48 hours of launch.
If you use a camera that takes interchangeable lenses, you’ll probably have experienced the frustration of dealing with lens caps. Well, Kuvrd (pronounced covered) has just come up with a patented lens cap made of Silicon that fits over any lens, and put it up for funding on Kickstarter. Named simply the “Universal Lens Cap”, the cap is waterproof, dirt-proof, shock absorbent and stretchable so it will cover any lens that has a diameter of 60mm to 150mm.
As you can see from the video above, smaller lenses can be made water proof by fitting a Universal Lens Cap on both ends. The company says the Universal Lens Cap also keeps lenses safe from water and humidity, so you won’t get internal lens damage because of differing temperatures, altitudes, and environments.
The stretchable nature of the Universal Lens Cap also means you can easily stuff it into your pocket or bag while you’re taking pictures. You can also put multiple layers over your lenses for additional security and protection.
