Previously, sharing images taken by the Lytro camera could only be done with the company's desktop application. But Lytro intends to change all that with the release of an iOS mobile app for those who own an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Users are now able to upload and share any images taken with the Lytro camera courtesy of the Wi-Fi chip inside the Lytro camera which allows the camera to connect to your iOS device. The Wi-Fi chip is activated with a free software update, and users will then be able to preview and upload pictures to Lytro.com, Facebook or Twitter by using a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

Lytro has also added the ability to save images taken with the perspective-shift feature as an animated GIF. The iOS app is available right now in the App Store.
