Leica announces M10 with a new 24MP sensor and slimmer chassis

Leica has announced the M10, the latest in its M series of cameras. The M10 comes with a new 24MP full-frame sensor and is slightly slimmer and lighter compared to the previous M (Typ 262).

It gains an external ISO dial, a new Maestro II image processor, 5 frames per second shooting, a larger viewfinder, a smaller battery with less capacity, and a larger LCD viewfinder. The M10 also follows 2016’s trend of removing ports; it has zero I/O ports but does have built-in Wi-Fi to compensate. Unlike the M (Typ 240), the M10 can’t shoot video.

Local availability and price haven’t been announced, but DPReviewDPReview reports that the M10 will available in the US this week for US$6,595, body only.
