The latest version of Macphun’s Luminar photo-editing tool retouches photos for you

Macphun has just released the latest version of their Luminar photo-editing tool, and the head-lining feature is the inclusion of an artificial intelligence engine.

Macphun’s latest update to their Lumina photo-editing software for Mac brings a host of new features and updates. Chief of which, is their Accent AI filter which automatically applies filters to any image for optimal effect. Looking at the examples on their webpage, it seems like the software automatically tries to get you a HDR-like end result that you can adjust by way of a slider.

A new workspace called “Quick & Awesome” has also been added, putting three filters – Clarity, Saturation & Vibrance, and the above mentioned Accent AI for quick and easy edits. Also improved, is the Vignette filter, with the addition of vignette styles, the option to place the center of the vignette and pre and post-crop modes to give you even more control over the final finish of your photos.

Other new additions include:

  • Plug-in integration with Creative Kit and Aurora HDR 2017 – Seamlessly access favorite features from Macphun’s other photo editing tools.
  • Brush, Gradient and Radial Gradient tools – These have been upgraded with faster performance for smoother selective editing.
  • Memory management – Increased overall performance for large files and allowance for more than five simultaneous open images.
  • User Interface changes – Extensive improvements to in-app animation and mode transitions make for a more pleasing editing experience.
  • Crop tool update – Ability to specify custom crop sizes bring the ultimate usefulness to cropping.
  • Local history – Provision for reviewing separate history while in Transform, Denoise, Clone & Stamp modes helps optimize editing.
