Fujifilm shows off a modular medium format camera at GPP 2019

It's meant to be customizable from grip to EVF.

Fujirumors caught a look at a GFX modular system concept at Fujifilm’s recent X Summit held during the Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai last weekend and shared some pictures of the mock-up. As you can see, it seems to be a box type camera that can be fit with grip and different types of EVF, letting you move from something like the Sony RX0 to something close to the GFX.

It’s definitely an interesting concept, though the integration of camera body and sensor means you’ll still be buying a new unit each time you upgrade. Still, it does mean that existing GFX users can potentially look forward to a smaller camera in the future, and that’s always a good thing. Perhaps there can an adapter for use with Large format 4x5 cameras too?
