Fujifilm Announces Its Spring 2012 Lineup of FinePix Cameras

In total, Fujifilm's Spring 2012 lineup includes 16 FinePix cameras from six different series.

With rubberized coating and riveted metal handgrip, the 14.4-megapixel FinePix XP150/100 is capable of shooting up to depths of 10m, twice as deep compared to the existing FinePix XP30. It also has an increased shockproofing capabilities which enables it to survive a drop from up to 2m. On top of that, the XP150/100 will function in cold climates, as low as -10°C, and is also dust and sand-resistant.

Additionally, the XP150 incorporates an advanced GPS functionality, so users can track their movements and show the router on the LCD. Alternatively, users can get to a computer and create a pictorial map of the locations visited using the bundled My FinePix Studio software.

Available in five colors: black, silver, orange, green and blue.

Another all-weather compact camera Fujifilm is launching is the FinePix XP50. Equipped with a 14.4-megapixel CMOS sensor optimized for response times, it is waterproof to a depth of 5m, shockproof to a height of 1.5m, and can withstand temperatures of down to -10°C. Besides having an updated exterior, it offers a 5x wide-angle optical Fujinon lens and a 2.7-inch LCD with Anti Reflection Coating.

Available in black, blue, green, orange and silver.

Fujifilm launches four high-powered premium bridge cameras, which offer the image quality and versatility of a DSLR camera, combined with the convenience and portability of a compact camera.

The main feature of these four compacts is the Fujinon optical zoom lenses they employ. Also, each camera houses a 1/2.3-inch 14-megapixel CCD sensor which is optimized to work with the zoom lenses. The SL-series come with a 3-inch LCD screen with an ultra-wide 160 degree viewing angle.

Featuring a powerful 8x Fujinon lens offering a 25-250mm equivalent to a 35mm camera, the FinePix JZ250 offers a 16-megapixel CCD sensor, while the entry-level FinePix JZ100 has 14 megapixels of imaging power. A dedicated movie recording button on both compacts enables users to start shooting movies in 720p HD.

Both the JZ250 and JZ100 are available in six colors: Black, Silver, Pink, Red, Blue and Purple.

A Fujinon 30x optical zoom lens offers a huge focal range of 24-720mm, allowing photographers to shoot from sweeping landscapes to fine details on wild animals. With Intelligent Digital Zoom function, the focal range is doubled to 60x.

With a 20x optical zoom lens, the FinePix F770EXR and F750EXR pack an improved 16-megapixel EXR CMOS sensor and enhanced GPS functionality. Optimized for faster start-ups, they are ready to shoot in about 1.5 seconds.

The FinePix F770EXR will be available in black, red, blue only, and in white and gold finishes.

The FinePix F750EXR is available in black and red.
