Casio Announces High-End Compact Camera, the Exilim EX-100
Hopping onto the premium digital compact camera bandwagon is the Casio Exilim EX-100, a compact camera that not only comes with a constant aperture of F2.8, but also 10.7x optical zoom.
Most premium digital compact cameras offer a wide aperture, but cover a limited focal length. The Casio Exilim EX-100 however, comes with 10.7x optical zoom while still featuring a constant aperture of F2.8 (which is uncommon to most prosumer compacts). The EX-100 also comes with a unique bracketing option, with the Auto option allowing users to shoot with dual combination bracketing settings. With this setting, when you press the shutter button the camera will capture nine images while automatically varying a pair of parameters. Users can choose from three dual combination bracketing types (focus and aperture, white balance and exposure, or contrast and saturation), which will allow for subtle differences between the various image captures of the same scene.
Single bracketing mode is also available, with the camera varying the shutter speed while continuously shooting three images. The EX-100 also comes with a 1/1.7-inch CMOS image sensor and a 3.5-inch 920,000-dot LCD display that can be tilted up or down. If you're worried about overexposure when shooting with the shutter wide-open, there's no need to worry as the EX-100 also features a three-stop ND filter.
