Canon’s EOS Webcam Utility, which turns your Canon cameras into webcams, now runs on macOS
Try this if you’ve a Canon camera and want to look your best on video meetings.

Last month, Canon USA released a beta version of its EOS Webcam Utility to allow owners of select EOS and PowerShot cameras to repurpose their cameras as webcams in Windows. Now, the company has released the software for the Mac.
For the most part, the Mac version works just like its Windows counterpart and is compatible with the same list of EOS cameras, including the 1D X, 5D, 6D, 7D, 77D, 80D and 90D DSLRs and the R/RP and M series mirrorless cameras, as well as PowerShot compacts such as the G5X Mark II, G7X Mark III and SX70 HS.
While the software runs on macOS 10.13 High Sierra and above, Canon notes some restrictions when it’s used on macOS 10.14 Mojave and 10.15 Catalina.
For instance, in these two macOS versions, the utility can’t run in Apple apps like Safari and FaceTime. The Skype, Zoom and WebEx Mac apps also won’t support this app — so if you use these tools, the workaround is to run their web-based clients in Chrome. Finally, like the Windows version, Canon USA says this software will not be supported outside of the US.
