Canon EOS M5 announced *updated with local pricing*
Canon’s latest mirrorless camera has just been launched in America, official specifications within.
It seems the specifications Nokishita released were largely accurate, as Adorama has just posted a mailer announcing the arrival of the EOS M5 (along with the option to pre-order.)
Here are the official specifciations:
- Effective resolution: 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS (total number of pixels: 25.8 million pixels)
- Dual Pixel CMOS AF
- DIGIC 7 image processor
- ISO Sensitivity: 100-25600
- Shutter speed: 1 / 4,000 to 30 seconds, bulb, maximum flash synchro shutter speed 1/200 sec
- Continuous shooting: up to about 9fps with AF lock, 7 fps without
- Digital IS with 5-axis electronic image stabilization with video, will work in conjunction with lens optical IS when shooting with an IS lens.
- OLED EVF: 2.36 Million dots with Touch & Drag AF
- 1.62 million dot 3.2“ tilt-type LCD with touch (85o up 180o down)
- Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS
- Memory card: SD / SDHC / SDXC card (UHS-I compatible)
- Size (W x H x D): 115.6 x 89.2 x 60.6 mm
- Weight: about 380g (body only), 427g (including battery · SD card)
Availability has yet to be announced, but the US pricing on Adorama is US$979 (body only).

Local pricing has just been announced for the EOS M5, and it's going to be available both as kit set and as a body only option at these prices:
- EOS M5 Body - S$1,449
- EOS M5 kit (EF M15-45mm) - S$1,669
