In pictures: The latest in imaging technologies at Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2018

We bring you through the first camera show of the year in pictures.

1/18

The yearly CP+ exhibition is upon us again! As always, it offers a look at what camera manufacturers have been working on for the new year, as well as a chance to play with some of the latest equipment out on the market.

2/18

Of course Canon is at the show, and they've got multiple units of their latest EOS M50 available for trial shooting. As we first reported here, the EOS M50 is Canon's first mirrorless camera to do 4K video, and the first to get the Digic 8 processor.

3/18

Also out on display, is the 470EX-AI speedlight. We've also covered this previously at the local launch, and there was certainly plenty of interest at the show too. As a recap, the flash head automatically swivels to give you the best angle for bounce flash when you double tap the shutter button. Handy, isn't it?

4/18

DJI has their latest Mavic Air out on display. Weighing just 430g, this is significantly lighter than the Mavic Pro, and also folds down for easy storage. Also, it comes with 8GB of internal storage so you can get up and running straight away.

5/18

There was plenty of interest in the OSMO Mobile 2 too. As we mentioned in our earlier news coverage, this was just launched at CES and comes with an improved battery power system for longer battery life. It's also cheaper to boot!

6/18

Of course, Fujifilm has a huge booth at the site too. This display at the front shows their entire line-up, and it covers everything from point-and-shoots to medium format to broadcast lenses!

7/18

Of course, the star of the show is the newly released X-H1, and here you can get a close look at the inner workings of the camera. To find out more about this camera, head over to our first looks piece!

8/18

Venus Optics is also at the show, and it was great to see that they're finally increasing support for other mounts with their new lenses. As you can see, the new 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D for APS-C cameras comes in Fuji, Canon and Sony mounts.

9/18

Now here's an impressive sight. This should be every product Nikon is retailing at the moment, from lenses to cameras to binoculars. Certainly a wide selection to choose from!

10/18

Nikon's big feature product is still the D850 - and with good reason. It remains the most versatile option available for Nikon photographers, and as the setup implies, can take extreme weather. Click here to read our review of the camera.

11/18

No new cameras for Olympus this time round, but they did showcase some very handsome limited edition versions of the OM-D E-M1 Mark II and PEN-F cameras. Black and gold seems to be a winning combination here.

12/18

Steampunk meets PEN-F. Given how popular retro style is, we do think Olympus would have ready buyers if they ever released versions of these for retail.

13/18

The newly released Lumix G9 is known as the G9 Pro here in Japan, and it has an incredibly fast capture of up to 60fps (single focus before capture). Add to that Panasonic’s Dual I.S system that combines in-body and in-lens OIS, and you have one impressive camera.

14/18

The SD Quattro is one of the latest cameras from Sigma. It's got a 29.5MP APS-C sized Foveon sensor matched with their TRUE III processor for best results. In SFD (Super Fine Detail) mode, the camera simultaneously takes seven captures at different exposures in X3I format, allowing for images with greater dynamic range.

15/18

The newly launched A7 III was at the show, and there was of course a long line of people waiting to get their hands on the camera. This has a brand new BSI sensor and uses a new Z-series battery, giving it a battery life of some 610 shots on a single charge. Find out more here!

16/18

Another hugely popular station was the studio scene station where Sony had a model lit by multiple HVL-F60M flashes paired with the FA-WRR1 wireless receiver. This set-up lets you easily adjust the power of each flash from a single FA-WRC1M controller mounted on the camera's hotshoe.

17/18

If you're into astrophotography, the Unitec SWAT-350 should be of interest. This is a automated single way axis tracker that lets you easily capture star trails, sunsets, and more by compensating for the earth's rotation.

18/18

Of course, Zeiss was at the show too, but apart from their full range of lenses, they also had demo units of their VR ONE Plus headset available. This offers a 100o field of view, and you can use it with spectacles on too, so that's certainly a plus.
