The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III in pictures: A compact powerhouse
The OM-D E-M5 Mark III gets many of the advancements first seen in the E-M1 Mark II.
Meet Olympus' latest - the OM-D E-M5 Mark III. This has a 20.4MP Live MOS sensor, a TruePic VIII Quad Core Processor and a new 5-Axis Image Stablisation system, which gives approximately 5.5 stops of compensation.
Lookswise, the OM-D E-M5 Mark III inherits the delta-shaped viewfinder from the OM-1. Despite having a flip-out rear LCD, the camera remains dustproof, splashproof, and freezeproof down to -10°C.
The OM-D E-M5 Mark III gets 121-points all cross-type on-chip phase detection AF points spread across the viewfinder, allowing for high-precision, high-speed focusing. Focusing tracking is also said to be improved, so that you don't get unwanted focus shift with mixed perspective scenes.
From the top, you can see that the OM-D E-M5 Mark III has a full set of controls, with knurled dials and buttons for direct access to almost every setting.
For storage, the OM-D E-M5 Mark III supports a single SD, SDHC or SDXC card. It also supports both UHS-I and UHS-II specifications, so you'll get a faster and more stable transfer. On that note, the camera does up to 10fps continuous shooting so being able to use faster cards will definitely help.
The OM-D E-M5 Mark III also lets you manually adjust the HDR settings, so you can specify exactly how many frames are captured in the burst, and what the exposure difference between them should be.
As you can see, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III will capture video at up to 4K/30p or, 120fps FHD slo-motion capture. Video capture is supported by on-chip Phase Detection AF for optimal focusing speed.
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III will be available from November 2019 in a choice of black or silver for S$1,848 (body only).
