Meet the Fujifilm X-Pro3! As we covered in this news here, this is Fujifilm's latest rangefinder-style flagship camera, and it comes with the 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 first seen in their X-T3.
Perhaps the most striking change is the new 1.28-inch colour Memory LCD screen you see here. This can be set to Classic mode, which displays your film simulation, white balance and ISO settings as you se here, or to Standard mode, which gives you your usual shooting settings in plain text.
Here's another look at the back of the rear LCD screen. This has a 1.62-million-dot resolution, and is touch sensitive. It flips down to about 180o, so you have greater shooting options, whether it's waist level, or overhead.
And here's the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder. This has a 3.69-million dot organic EL panel with a contrast ratio of 1:5,000 and a high maximum luminance of 1500cd/m2. It also covers 97% of the RGB space for more accurate colour reproduction.
As always, the X-Pro 3 boasts a very nice set of knurled dials that are great to touch. We're told the shutter button was also reworked for more spring following feedback from photographers, thus giving you a little more of a physical response when taking a picture.
Here's another welcome carry-over from the X-Pro2. The focus selector joystick makes a return for easier selection of focus point. Everything else seems to be massively simplified though, as there's only the Menu/Ok, Play and Display/Back buttons on the right side of the camera.
Dual card slots return too, and of course, the camera supports UHS-1, UHS-2 and Video Speed Class V30 cards with a capacity of up to 512GB each.
And now for some samples with the new Classic Negative film simulation. As you can see, there's good sharpness to this image overall (check the following slide for a 100% crop), and the highlights have been well-controlled. (Capture information: 50mm at f/5.6, 1/500s, ISO 160).
From this shot of the Esplanade, you can really see just what Fujifilm means by chromatic contrast. The blue and gold hues of the glass facade of the Esplanade play off each other beautifully, making it seem as though the entire building is glowing.
The X-Pro 3 is available now in three colours - Black, DR Black, and DR Silver. Body only pricing for the Black is S$2,699, while DR Black and DR Silver cost S$2,999 each (body only).
