When you come home after a long day at work, the last thing you’d want to see is probably a big pile of laundry that needs doing. Indeed, it’s utterly demoralising to gaze upon such a mountainous task especially when you’re already tired, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to make things easier for yourself.

This is where Samsung’s QuickDrive series of washing machines come in, with a multitude of features designed to make the process so seamless and efficient it is almost therapeutic. Let’s take a look at what this nifty device can do for your laundry runs.

1) Leave the competition in the dust

Assuming you do a weekly laundry run that lasts an hour and a half, did you know you might be able to finish up a session in a fraction of that time with a Samsung QuickDrive?

Using the Super Speed cycle feature, which can compress your wash cycle to a mere 39 minutes1, you’ll be able to get a round of laundry done in a jiffy. On top of that, using the powerful jets of water from Speed Spray and the accelerated spin speeds within the machine, the rinsing time has also been substantially reduced. Naturally, these all come together to not only help you save water and electricity but also allows you to sort out any urgent laundry needs quicker.

However, a fast wash cycle doesn’t mean QuickDrive washers compromise on thoroughness - the various models will either sport the nifty Q-Drum or Q-Bubble technology, both of which helps to ensure a clean that is not just powerful but only requires half the time2. The former consists of a “main drum” and a “backplate” capable of independent rotation, allowing for dynamic dual-force washing that also reduces energy consumption by up to 20%3.

As for the latter, it combines additional water shots with dynamic drum rotations to bring about more abundant and “powerful” bubbles. This allows the bubbles to penetrate much deeper, leading to spotless washes that are equally gentle on your laundry.

2) Simple, hassle-free operation for all

Moving on, there’s one other hurdle that you likely have to surmount with older washing machines, and that’s knowing which buttons to press and which knobs to turn. With so many settings to choose from, customising your wash cycles can often be confusing, but fortunately, you won’t have to worry about that with the QuickDrive.

For one, the QuickDrive comes equipped with a sleek yet minimalist AI control panel which ditches all the unnecessary bells and whistles - all you have to do is turn a knob to view the entire suite of options. Additionally, it is also capable of learning and displaying your most frequently used wash cycles on startup, so that you and your family members don’t have to toy around or remember your preferred wash settings every time you want to do laundry.

Now, you’d be right to assume that the AI can do much more than just record your washing habits. In fact, it can actually help you simplify the process. Not only does the display help you keep track of useful information like the cycle status, but it’s also capable of providing users with troubleshooting tips. At this point, you could say it is less of an AI and more of a “smart laundry assistant”, especially with the nifty AI Wash4 that does all the brainwork for you. It sports 4 built-in sensors that can recommend the right water and detergent levels for a batch of clothes based on the weight and soil (dirt) levels, ensuring a thorough and clean wash each and every time.

In doing this, Samsung has also kept your water and detergent consumption to a minimum, which saves you time and money that would otherwise be spent on water bills or buying detergent. Speaking of which, the QuickDrive also features an automatic detergent dispenser which further optimises your detergent and softener consumption to minimise wastage, and a full tank should be enough to last you about a month5, after which it will prompt you for a refill. The dispensing tray is also easy to access and clean under a running tap directly.

3) Hook it up for fingertip access

Samsung has also ensured that the QuickDrive can fit snugly into your smart home ecosystem with not one but two handy features to complement it. The first of these is the Auto-Cycle Link6 function, which allows compatible washers and dryers to “communicate” and share information with each other. Specifically, the Heatpump dryer analyses the settings of the current wash cycle and automatically recommends the most appropriate drying cycle to match that particular batch of laundry.

Then there’s also Wi-Fi Smart Control7, which lets you link up the QuickDrive to Samsung’s SmartThings app8. This gives you further access to three other helpful sub-features, which you can use to get your laundry runs going with just a tap on your phone screen.

The first of those, Laundry Recipe takes the guesswork out of your wash cycles by recommending the best settings for your batch of laundry. The second, Laundry Planner allows you to remotely control, schedule and initiates your wash cycles. Finally, HomeCare Wizard provides useful maintenance tips and monitoring to ensure your QuickDrive is always in tip-top condition.

As a final touch, Samsung has also wrapped up this swift and smart laundry package with an updated aesthetic profile. The QuickDrive comes in a sleek and refined frame that looks way sexier than the boring and white boxy designs of other ordinary washers, which is then topped off with its intuitive yet minimalistic digital control panel. The design is also as practical as it is beautiful, making it that much easier to slot into compact backyard spaces.

So, if you are looking around for a powerful, and intelligent washer that can help you streamline your laundry runs, the QuickDrive series might just be what you’re looking for. And they don't cost a bomb either.

There are about a dozen different models and load configurations to the 2021 QuickDrive washer series, with Washer/Dryer combos as well as a super large capacity model (21kg). Prices start from just S$1,049 at the Samsung Online Store as well as most consumer electronics chain stores in Singapore.
