Compared to the Galaxy SmartTag which uses Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy (BLE), the Galaxy SmartTag+ is equipped with both BLE and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. With UWB technology, the Galaxy SmartTag+ is able to use augmented reality (AR) to pinpoint your missing item with greater accuracy.
The AR finder is stated to have an easy-to-follow interface on a compatible UWB-equipped Galaxy phone which will show you how far away you are from the item tracker and point you in that direction. At the moment, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold2 are the only Galaxy phones with UWB technology.
The Galaxy SmartTag+ will be progressively available from 16 April. Availability, timing and pricing will vary by market.
