Samsung Bixby Vision.
Three years after introducing Bixby Vision on the Galaxy S8, Samsung is planning to kill four key features of its intelligent digital voice assistant.
The South Korean company reportedly pushed out a notice to users late last month informing them that four Bixby Vision augmented reality (AR) features will be discontinued by the end of October. The four AR features are Places, Styling, Home Decor and Makeup.
Bixby Vision still offers other interesting features such as real-time translation and smarter shopping experience where ratings, reviews and prices will be shown to users after they've taken a photo of an item of their interest.
The partial discontinuation of some key features of Bixby Vision could be related to the rumoured global revenue-sharing deal between Google and Samsung. Reuters reported in July that Google wanted Samsung to drop Bixby on the Galaxy devices and give more prominence to its own services.
