LG Electronics Singapore (7 October 2024) today announced that it has partnered with Touch Community Services to support better living conditions for the charity’s beneficiaries.

The partnership saw LG Singapore’s consumer electronics arm help support families in need by replacing faulty or outdated refrigerators, washing machines, or televisions, with newer LG appliances.

70 of these appliances and TVs were donated to 45 families. LG's logistics partner, Myco3 Logistics, provided the complimentary delivery and installation of LG’s new appliances and disposal services for the replaced units.

According to LG, this gesture is part of the LG’s ongoing effort to ensure that all of its appliances are used well by those who need them the most. This is also why the appliances chosen are both relatively big-ticket expenses that are fundamental to the well-being of these families.

As an example, several donated washing machines came with LG’s Smart Inverter Technology, which is capable of adjusting energy use based on load and cycle, helping these families save energy (and, therefore, money) in the long run. The refrigerators’ Inverter Linear Cooling Technology offers the same outcome by reducing power draw for preserving and cooling food.

Donated TV models include QNED (Quantum Dot), NanoCell, or 4K resolution TVs, which are crucial for these families' entertainment and staying abreast of society’s updates without getting left behind.

“We are grateful for LG’s generous donation of essential home appliances which would benefit the families we serve. Access to these home appliances provides these families greater convenience and enhances their daily living. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to uplifting the lives of the vulnerable in the community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our families,” said Mr James Tan, CEO of TOUCH Community Services.
