LG Artcool Gallery 2023 would be ready for viewing (and blowing) at CES 2023.
LG is very prepared for the CES 2023 frenzy to come, with its latest pre-show tease being a fully-functional air conditioner that masquerades as a digital picture frame.
LG calls this the Artcool Gallery, where the 27-inch LCD screen hides its air conditioning unit behind the frame. It’s not a new concept – LG’s Artcool Gallery product range has existed for a decade (if not more) – but the latest version to be unveiled at CES 2023 promises slimmer, simpler frame borders for a more sophisticated look, and improved air-conditioning technologies made for its unique form factor.
The 27-inch LCD screen that acts as a digital picture frame is fully customisable via its smart remote or the Android-only mobile app. Users can pick their favourite photo, choose settings and functions, and monitor the air-conditioning unit via its accompanying remote or smartphone.
The real magic lies in its air-conditioning capabilities. LG takes its Dual Inverter Compressor technology from its conventional HVAC units and implanted it in the Artcool Gallery’s relatively slim body. According to the brand, it uses 70% less power than a typical residential air-con unit. It also operates at 20dB (keeping noises to a minimum) and has a three-way indirect airflow path to distribute cold air efficiently.
Artcool Gallery also comes with LG’s AI Dry feature to cope with its unique form factor. The appliance sets an optimal “drying time” that removes any built-up moisture from regular use. Helping that further is the new model’s bottom grill, which is easier to detach and clean now.
Folks can see the new Artcool Gallery air-con appliance at LG’s booth at CES 2023, which is happening in early next year. We’re still waiting for its official prices and retail availability information.
