At Apple’s recent Glowtime event, most of the spotlight was on the new Apple Watch Series 10, but there was no sign of an Apple Watch Ultra 3. Instead, Apple gave its existing Watch Ultra 2 a fresh look with a new satin black titanium finish.
This new colour is a deep black with a soft brushed effect, which I thought gives the Watch Ultra 2 a sleeker and more sophisticated vibe than the original – especially when paired with the all-new Titanium Milanese Loop in the same colour. It’s a subtle update, no doubt. But I think it might just be the nudge some folks need to consider Apple’s top-tier smartwatch.

But there is a little silver lining for existing Apple Ultra Watch 2 owners. The Ultra 2 is now set to receive the same sleep apnea detection feature introduced with the new Series 10 (and also coming to the Series 9).
Even if Apple did not announce a new Ultra watch, which was unexpected, the Ultra 2 is already a powerful smartwatch as it is and still packed with features that are not found on the Series 10. Perhaps the new satin black titanium colour is exactly what some might have been waiting for to take the plunge into the premium Apple Watch experience.
The new satin black Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available for pre-order today and will be available from 20 September. It is priced at S$1,199, or S$1,339 with the Titanium Milanese Loop.
