Apple Maps is making cycling in Singapore easier. Since 25 October, users can access detailed, turn-by-turn cycling directions for bike paths, bike lanes, and bike-friendly roads. This feature brings a ton of options for cyclists to better plan their rides by offering route previews and road traffic levels – it will even point out steep hills and busy areas so cyclists can avoid those altogether.
Cyclists will also benefit from real-time elevation data, dismount notifications at specific intersections, and voice guidance to keep their focus on the road. Riders can easily find nearby amenities like public restrooms, bike repair shops, and rest stops along the route. There are also options to share ETA, adjust spoken directions, or view a list of turns – all while staying on track.
Apple Watch owners get an extra boost, with Haptic Touch turn-by-turn directions and voice feedback that includes speed and distance stats. The new integration makes Apple Maps a really handy tool for both seasoned cyclists and those exploring new bike-friendly routes across the island.
