The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fans is the fourth generation of the company’s combination Air Multipliers and air purifiers. The new fans feature improved filters and a new LCD display that reports on air quality.

The smaller fans come in white and silver. The tower fans come in white/silver, iron/blue, and this gorgeous black/nickel.

You can distinguish the new purifying fans from this LCD display. It reports pollutants in the home in real time, which the fans react to automatically. You can watch a real-time report of how the air quality is improving as the fan works. You can still check air quality via the Dyson Link app, available on iOS and Android.

It’s easier to change filters on the new purifying fans than before. Before you had to lift the entire fan up to swap out the filters. Now you simply release the grills and change out the filters.

The filter now incorporates 60% more HEPA media into a taller and deeper filter. Microfiber filters capture 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns (here’s why that’s important). There is now three times more activated carbon, which can absorb gases, odors, fumes, and VOCs.

A lot of engineering has gone into the new purifying fans. Dyson collaborated with air quality monitoring labs in King’s College and Peking University, to calibrate their sensors with lab equipment. The Dyson sensors also ran outdoors for six months and gathered over five billion data points for analysis.

The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fans have a new Diffused Mode. This lets the fan purify the air without blowing cool air directly on users. Instead, the air is diverted through the rear of the fan. This creates a diffused airflow that uses less energy and is quieter.

The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fans can now turn 350 degrees, nearly a full circle, to circulate air around a room. They’ll be available in Singapore from late May. The desk fan will retail at S$699, the tower fan will retail at S$899 for the white/silver and iron/blue variants. The black/nickel tower fan will retail at S$949.
