Late last year, Xiaomi unveiled its first electric car, the SU7. It’s a four-door saloon designed to compete with the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. It was hugely impressive, considering it was the company’s first-ever car.
Now, Xiaomi is back with a performance-oriented version. This is the new SU7 Ultra, and as its name suggests, its performance figures are mind-blowing.
According to Xiaomi, the SU7 Ultra’s three electric motors have a combined power output of 1,548PS. That’s over 2.6 times more power than the current range-topping SU7 Max.
The reason for this jaw-dropping amount of power is simple: Xiaomi wants to build the fastest production four-door car. Claimed performance figures are 0-100km/h in 1.98 seconds – without a one-foot rollout – 0-200km/h in 5.86 seconds, and a maximum speed of 350km/h.

To deal with this power, the SU7 Ultra has a considerable amount of body, handling, and aerodynamic tweaks and upgrades. The front and rear tracks are wider, while the car is longer and lower. Front splitters, air curtains, a rear wing, and an active rear diffuser mean the SU7 Ultra produces a maximum downforce of 285kg.
The high-performance brakes are sourced from Akebono – six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston ones at the rear. Rotors are ceramic, which are more resistant to heat and wear, and the front discs are a whopping 430mm in size.
Xiaomi offers the SU7 Ultra with two suspension options: dual-chamber air springs or traditional coilovers. The former provides adaptive damping and provides a better blend of performance and comfort. The latter uses Bilstein’s EVO T1 coilover kit, which has 10 levels of adjustability and is better suited for track driving.

Inside, the SU7 Ultra gets a racier cockpit in the form of upgraded sports seats that offer more support and a sportier steering wheel with carbon fibre and Alcantara.
Range, based on the CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) is a claimed 630km. Xiaomi says it can charge from 10% to 80% battery in just 11 minutes.
Additionally, a modified version of the SU7 Ultra recently recorded a 6-minute and 46.874-second lap time around the notoriously demanding Nürburgring track. Though it’s the fastest time ever recorded by a four-door car, it won’t qualify for any production car record since it’s a prototype. Xiaomi says it intends to pursue an official production record. The record for the fastest production four-door car stands at 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds and is held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
