While it is still unclear when Apple Car will be launched, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims to have information on its specs.

In his latest investor note, Kuo reiterates that Hyundai will be the manufacturing partner for the Apple Car. He added that the Apple Car will use Hyundai’s electric car chassis, E-GMP which was announced a few months ago.

According to Hyundai’s spec sheet, E-GMP is designed exclusively for battery electric vehicles (BEVs). E-GMP is engineered to deliver improved cornering performance and driving stability at high speed. There is also optimal weight distribution between the front and the rear, and a low-mounted battery pack which offers a low center of gravity. In terms of speed, the high-performance model of the E-GMP can reach a maximum top speed of 160 mph, and 0 - 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.

Kuo claims the Apple Car will arrive in 2025 at the earliest. Given Apple’s lack of experience in automobile, the longer development time, higher validation requirement and a more complex supply chain, a 2025 launch is already on a tight schedule. In addition, the launch can be delayed further if Apple wants to design its own components for the Apple Car.
