Mercedes-Benz is pivoting to electric cars hard and fast with its EQ series of all-electric cars. And joining the EQA and EQC here in Singapore is the flagship-class EQS. Well-heeled folks holding out for an all-electric version of the S-Class, here it is.
The EQS will be available here in two variants. There's the EQS450+ and then there's range-topping Mercedes-AMG EQS 53.

Both cars feature the same 107.8kWh capacity battery but the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 has the benefit of being propelled by two electric motors. The EQS450+ only has one.
The EQS450+ single electric motor sends power to the rear wheels and total power output is 333hp and 565nm of torque. That's enough to get it from 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds. The maximum claimed range (WLTP) is 762km.

The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53, with its dual motors, is much more powerful. It has a total power output of 650hp (750hp with overboost) and a tarmac-ripping 950nm of torque (1020nm with overboost). This gets it from a standstill to 100km/h in well under 4 seconds. Maximum claimed range (WLTP) is 570km.

The other big difference between the two models is on the inside. While the EQS450+ has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment, which is fairly standard fare for high-end Mercs, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 gets the company's MBUX Hyperscreen system which consists of three displays spread across a massvie 56-inch glass panel.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS450+ and Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 are both available to order now. Prices of the EQS450+ start at S$527,888, while prices of the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 start at S$753,888. Prices include COE and are accurate at the time of writing.
