Google and Renault announced they will be expanding their partnership to design and deliver the digital architecturee for the "Software Defined Vehicle" (SDV).
The partnership will see the creation of a Digital Twin, which is a virtual twin of the vehicle that features the most advanced AI capabilities, for an easier and continuous integration of new services into the vehicle, and the creation of new onboard (In-Car Services) and offboard apps.
The expansion in use of Google Cloud technology for SDV will support first use cases in development such as predictive maintenance, better detection and rectification of failures in near real time, a personalised experience to adapt to driving behaviours, often-used destinations (e.g. EV charging stations) and insurance models based on actual usage and driving behaviours.
