XGIMI is introducing a handful of new technologies at CES 2024 along with new 2024 projectors, starting with the IMAX Enhanced certified HORIZON Max and the Aladdin, a 3-in-1 smart projector lamp and speaker combo.

The updated technology includes Intelligent Screen Adaptation (ISA) 5.0 and Dual Light 2.0 technologies.

We previously covered ISA 2.0 in late 2022, when enhancement to its autofocusing capability allowed it to make screen adjustments without interrupting a show and in a manner that won't be noticeable or jarring to the viewers. Now ISA 5.0 technology uses hardware and software enhancements along with a fully automated motorised gimbal to automatically locate the best position to project on the wall. It can even intelligently remember settings for specific walls!

Dual Light 2.0 technology is XGIMI's new dual-light light source that integrates a Triple laser source for an extended colour range and a phosphor light to enhance any imperfections produced by the Tri-laser light source. XGIMI says this results in a more cinematic experience with an ultra-wide colour gamut, ultra-high brightness of 3,100 lumens, ultra-high contrast (2000:1 native contrast ratio) and ultra-high colour accuracy.

ISA 5.0 and Dual Light 2.0 culminate in XGIMI’s new IMAX-enhanced HORIZON Max projector, the world’s first Long Throw smart projector. In the HORIZON Max, Dual Light 2.0 ensures brightness, while ISA 5.0 delivers image optimisation.

As ISA 5.0 can remember specific settings for specific walls, users can game on one side of the room and enjoy movies on the other, and the HORIZON Max will seamlessly transition when moved between walls, automatically adapting its software and hardware settings to optimise the experience for each activity. A 3D ToF sensor is used to measure the time it takes for the light wave to reflect after hitting the projection surface to calculate the distance between the light source and the projection surface and draw a depth map of the space in which it is located.

The HORIZON Max comes equipped with MCL lasers commonly used in commercial theatres, couple this with Dual Light 2.0 and you get what XGIMI calls its brightest display to date, a 35% increase from the previous HORIZON Ultra.

Finally, the HORIZON Max comes with IMAX Enhanced certification, Dolby Vision, and DTS:X to bring IMAX's signature sound to the home. For those who're unaware, IMAX and DTS partnered together to launch the IMAX Enhanced programme to certify consumer gear such as TVs, A/V receivers, sound systems and other home theatre equipment that deliver top-notch visuals and audio experiences combined. This helps discerning consumers identify and shop for high-quality home theatre experiences more easily.

Aladdin: the 3-in-1 projector

Want a ceiling-mounted projector but lack the perfect position because of your lights? Well, use the Aladdin to solve your problem.

The Aladdin is a smart ceiling lamp, high-end projector, and connected speakers all in a single device, and has a 0.7:1 projection ratio. Imagine having a projector and a 360-degree Harman Kardon smart speaker, for no more effort than installing a standard ceiling light. The ease of deployment just blows my mind.

Beyond usage as a typical projector, Aladdin offers immersive, dynamic wallpapers, life-sized interactive children's books, and soothing ambient sounds for bedtime to bring magic into the living space.
