Sony has unveiled its latest addition to the true wireless earbuds market in Singapore with the WF-C510. The new WF-C510 is also the successor to the WF-C500 which was released nearly three years ago.
For those with smaller ears, Sony says that the newest earbuds are the company’s smallest closed-type/in-ear earbuds and were designed to provide a comfortable fit for users with smaller ears. The earbuds have a rounded design, a matte finish, and a flat surface button for media controls.
The new WF-C510 has several advanced features typically found in higher-end wireless earbuds. This includes Multipoint Connection, which allows it to be connected to two devices via Bluetooth 5.3.

It also has an Ambient Sound Mode with a “Voice Focus” function that targets and captures human voices while keeping background noise to a minimum. As with the WF-C500, the newer WF-C510 does not have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
Other notable features of the earbuds include compatibility with Fast Pair and Swift Pair for easy device connections, support for ‘Quick Access’ for Spotify Tap, and IPX4 water resistance making them suitable for active lifestyles. The earbuds only support the most basic SBC and AAC codecs though there is Sony’s DSEE upscaling technology as well as customisable EQ settings through the Sony Headphones Connect app.
Finally, the battery life. Despite its compact size, the earbuds have a total playtime of 22 hours with the charging case and 11 hours on a single charge. There is also a quick charging feature that Sony says will provide 60 minutes of listening time after just five minutes of charging.
On paper, this looks like an attractive option for anyone who's looking for budget-friendly earbuds. It has just about everything one would need except ANC. This is a bit of a shame, especially when you consider that some of its rivals at this price point do.
