One of the things I love most about working from home is that I can listen to my open-back headphone.

I can't do this in the office because sound would leak out from my headphone and disturb my neighbours. No one needs or wants to know that I'm jamming out to oldies from the incomparable Teresa Teng.

So if you are like me, then you'll be happy to know that Sennheiser has a new open-back headphone called the HD 560S.

It has an over-ear open-back design that similar to other headphones in the 500 series like the HD 559 and HD 599.

Sennheiser says the HD 560S has a "natural and accurate reference sound." This is achieved by using a new 120 ohm drivers that feature a new polymer-blend diaphragm that allows for highly linear excursion.

Additionally, the HD 560S uses thick velour earpads and angled drivers to create a more natural and wide soundstage that's akin to a loudspeaker setup.

Sensitivity is rated at a fairly high 110dB (1kHz/1V RMS), so even though the impedance is high, you should be able to get good volumes out of just about any source device. That said, I have no doubt that the HD 560S will sound its best when paired with a competent amplifier.

The Sennheiser HD 560S is available now and it's priced at S$299. It will be available soon on Sennheiser's online store, and you can also keep a look out for it on Lazada on the Sennheiser Official Store.
