Sennheiser has released the Accentum Open in Singapore, marking its second mid-range true-wireless earbud offering under the Accentum banner. As you might have surmised from its name, a key difference from last year’s Accentum True Wireless is the earbuds' open design, which forgoes ear tips and stabilisers in favour of a stem-like design that allows the earbuds to sit in your concha—the area just outside your ear canal.

Driving the Accentum Open is an 11mm dynamic transducer. Compared to the Accentum True Wireless, users will be disappointed to find out that the earbuds support only the standard SBC and AAC codecs. Additionally, these earbuds do not have active noise cancellation, not that it would be of any use given the open nature of the buds.

The earbuds connect to devices via Bluetooth 5.3 and support multipoint pairing, allowing users to switch between two devices without the need to reconnect manually. Dual-beamforming microphones are built into the earbuds to improve voice clarity and suppress background noise during calls. These microphones also aid the dedicated transparency mode, which amplifies ambient sounds to help users stay aware of their surroundings.

Weighing 4.4g each, the earbuds feature touch-sensitive controls on the stem, allowing users to manage playback, adjust volume, and activate voice assistants with simple taps.

Available in Cream and Black, the Accentum Open claims up to 6.5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, extending to a total of 28 hours with the included colour-matched matte charging case. A quick 10-minute charge offers 1.5 hours of listening. One thing worth noting is that the charging case only charges via USB-C—there's no support for wireless charging. Finally, the earbuds have an IPX4 water resistance rating.

The Accentum Open earbuds seem like a solid choice for Sennheiser fans who value situational awareness and a lightweight, non-intrusive fit over high-resolution codecs and active noise cancellation.
