In July, Nothing announced its first consumer product, which turned out to be the Ear (1) true wireless earbuds.

Its unusual design aside, the Ear (1) made headlines for its features and price. The earbuds feature active noise cancellation, a transparency mode, and a charging case that delivers up to 34 hours of listening time and supports wireless charging all for just US$99.

I've been listening to them for the past two weeks and I found them to be more than decent. Firstly, the fit is excellent and I could easily wear them comfortably for hours.

The active noise cancellation feature, though no match for the Sony WF-1000XM4 or AirPods Pro, is quite adequate.

It also sounds quite pleasant. Like most consumer earbuds, there's thumping bass that's tastefully elevated but not overly exuberant such that it muddies the rest of the spectrum. The mids and treble could use some work but for the money, I think most users won't complain too much.

Availability and pricing

The Nothing Ear (1) true wireless earbuds will go on sale next week on 8 November and will be priced at S$179. You can find them on the Nothing Flagship Store on Lazada.
