Logitech has announced the introduction of the MeetUp 2, an AI-powered USB conference camera for huddle and small meeting rooms.

This USB conference camera is the evolution of the Logitech MeetUp, a conference camera that has sold more than one million units.

The original MeetUp supported multiple video resolutions, from HD (720p) up to Ultra HD (4K, or 2160p), 120° field-of-view (FOV) without any fisheye lens distortion but with motorised pan/tilt, and three beamforming omnidirectional microphones with noise and echo cancellation built in.

The new Logitech MeetUp 2 is similar in design to its predecessor in that it has a central lens flanked by speakers on either side. It comes with a 4K camera that provides 120-degree field of view (FoV), up to a 4X zoom, supports digital pan and tilt, and RightSight 2 (Logitech’s AI framing solution). While RightSight was a camera control technology that automatically moved the lens and adjusted the zoom so no one was left out of the picture, RightSight 2 can do a lot more.

When using RightSight 2, the MeetUp 2 can frame each meeting participant (Gride View), focus the camera on the active speakers (Speaker View), or focus the camera on the group (Group View). It also uses Camera Zone. This allows you to define a specific area for the camera to actively detect and frame meeting participants, eliminating distractions from individuals outside of meeting rooms and designated meeting spaces.

The MeetUp 2 also has six microphones, compared to the three from the original MeetUp, which allows the MeetUp 2 to have more accurate beamforming and better pick up those who are speaking while also isolating ambient noises. This is where RightSound 2 comes in. It uses AI-based algorithms that balance voices and filter out unwanted noise, while reducing reverberation in rooms with echoes.

MeetUp 2 works with popular video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. When MeetUp 2 is not in use for a video meeting, the display in the room can be used to display digital signage like a company logo or any information that IT wants to share, as long as the company is using Logitech Sync.
