Harman Kardon’s stylish new Citation speakers have both Chromecast and Google Assistant

Harman Kardon’s new Citation speakers certainly look good, with an industrial design highlighted by aluminium detailing and the use of Kvadrat wool fabric. There are speakers to cover every need in this series, from tabletop options of various sizes to a full entertainment system setup. There’s a soundbar option, a subwoofer, tower speakers and surround speakers.

All the units will get Apple AirPlay2 support following an update later this year, and the Premium series speakers as well as the Bar will support low latency 24bit/96kHz HD multi-room audio streaming thanks to their use of WiSa technology. Start a song on one speaker, and spread it to the other units in your home with a couple taps on the app. If you want an awesome movie viewing experience, bring them all into one room to build a 5.1 surround system.

There’s plenty of flexibility there, and the addition of Google Assistant means you can start using your voice to do tasks like creating a to-do list for the day, or activate other Google Home devices in your home. The addition of Chromecast means you’ll never be short for music either, as you can access more than 300 audio streaming services in HD quality, or cast your own tunes from your smartphone, laptop or tablet.

The speakers will come with the option of Winter Grey or Classic Black fabric. Pricing and availability information for Singapore hasn’t been announced yet, so we’ll update this piece as soon as we get word.
