If you've been itching for a new pair of good-sounding true wireless earbuds, Creative's new Aurvana Ace SXFI and Aurvana Ace Mimi might be what you're looking for. These two true wireless earbuds are new additions to the Aurvana Ace series, which was initially launched back in November 2023

Featuring all-silicon, solid-state xMEMS drivers, these two models each have their unique features.

Starting with the Aurvana Ace SXFI, these true wireless earbuds come with Creative's own Super X-Fi Gen 4 technology, which utilises head and ear scans of the wearer to optimise audio for a personalised stereo soundstage that's tailored to individuals. We previously tested this out in our Creative Zen Air SXFI review and we found it worked quite well with movies, allowing for a more immersive experience. Like the Zen Air SXFI, the SXFI effect can be applied universally. This means it'll work with streamed content from apps like Netflix, Spotify and more. In other words, unlike older SXFI devices, you're not limited to just locally saved media.

While the Aurvana Ace SXFI and Zen Air SXFI share quite a few similarities, the former is clearly an upgrade on the audio quality side, with a dual-driver design that uses the aforementioned xMEMS driver alongside a 10mm dynamic driver. In case you were wondering, the Zen Air SXFI has a custom-tuned 10mm neodymium driver.

The Aurvana Ace SXFI also has hybrid ANC for cancelling out ambient noise, up to 28h of total playtime with the charging case, and sports an IPX5 water resistance rating so you can comfortably use them for exercise or in light rain.

For more personalised customisation, there's the Aurvana Ace Mimi which has been developed in collaboration with German sound personalisation company Mimi. With Mimi Sound Personalisation technology, these earbuds have the ability to customise sound profiles further such that they can even compensate for possible hearing loss in different frequency ranges.

There's also Creative's SXFI technology in these earbuds, and for audiophiles who want high-res streaming options, the Aurvana Ace Mimi supports not only the usual SBC and AAC codecs but also LDAC and LC3

“This collaboration with Mimi Hearing Technologies allows us to bring personalized audio to

a wider audience. What we’ve done with the Aurvana Ace Mimi is to ensure that everyone

can experience sound in a way that’s perfect for them. It’s about more than just hearing

better; it’s about making every listening moment more enjoyable.”

Other features include hybrid ANC, up to 28h of total playtime, IPX5 water resistance and of course, the earbuds use a dual-driver design similar to the Aurvana Ace SXFI with an xMEMS driver and a 10mm dynamic driver.

Availability and pricing

The Creative Aurvana Ace SXFI and Aurvana Ace Mimi are both available now and are priced at S$149 and S$189 respectively.  Both true wireless earbuds are available for purchase at Creative's official store here and here.
