Casio has just entered the high-resolution, high-brightness business projector market with its XJ-L8300HN 4K projector.
While the company brands this as a 4K UHD projector, based on how it describes the tech behind the resolution on its website, I gather that it’s using Texas Instruments’ 0.66-inch, 2716 x 1528-pixel DLP chip and fast switching tech to achieve its 4K resolution, a method that’s also employed by the BenQ W11000.
The 4K on-screen resolution aside, the 5,000-lumen XJ-L8300HN is also a lamp-free projector. And the biggest benefit of this all-laser light source is the estimated 20,000-hour lifespan. Other features include up to 1.07 billion colors reproduction, a 1.5x manual zoom lens, an optical lens shift function, a Super Resolution processing feature that makes 1080p images more 4K-like, and HDBaseT compatibility. The latter allows the transmission of HDMI signals (up to 4K video) over a long distance with just a single cable.
Other connections onboard include two HDMI terminals, a LAN jack, two USB ports (one Type-A, one mini-B), an RS-232C control terminal, separate computer input and monitor output ports, and mini jacks for wired remote and DC 12V trigger.
The Casio XJ-L8300HN will be available starting July 2017 at a price of S$12,499. You can visit this website for a full list of stores.
