Canon has launched the 4K600Z, a compact 4K (4,096 x 2,400) laser projector with a newly developed 1.76x motorized zoom lens.
The new lens on the 4K600Z is part of Canon’s L series line of professional lenses, which Canon says is capable of projecting clear 4K images onto a 120-inch screen at a projection distance ranging from 3.5 to 6.2 meters. Furthermore, with a marginal focus adjustment mechanism, it can deliver edge to edge clarity even when projecting over dome-shaped screens of a curvature radius of up to 3 meters.
The 6,000-lumen, LCoS-based projector also supports a wide variety of installation configs, including desktop installation, vertical stacking, upward projection, ceiling installation, downward projection, and 360 degree projection. It can also project tall vertical images. And since it uses a laser light source (blue laser diode and yellow phosphor), you're looking at up to 40,000 hours of lifespan (in ultra-long life mode).
In terms of connectivity, the 26kg 4K600Z comes with two HDMI and four DVI inputs that support single, stripe and cross configurations for 4K, 2K, or HD video playback. There’s also built-in Wi-Fi support, which you can use for remote projector control and management via the Canon Service Tool for PJ app.
The 4K600Z is currently available at all Canon authorized dealers and pricing is available on application.
